Precautions for using sewage pumps

What are the precautions for using a sewage pump? Below is a brief introduction.1. Never allow a sewage pump to operate if it has any minor malfunctions. If the packing on the pump shaft is completely worn, add more promptly. Continuing to use the pump will cause air leakage. This directly increases motor energy consumption and can damage the impeller.2. If the sewage pump experiences strong vibrations during operation, stop immediately and check the cause. Otherwise, it will also damage the pump.3. When the sewage pump’s foot valve leaks, some people fill the pump’s inlet pipe with dry soil and flush it down to the foot valve with water. This is highly inadvisable. When dry soil is placed in the inlet pipe and the pump starts operating, it will enter the pump, damaging the impeller and bearings, thus shortening the pump’s lifespan. If the foot valve is leaking, it must be repaired; if the leak is severe, it needs to be replaced.4. After using the sewage pump, proper maintenance is essential. For example, after use, drain the water completely from the pump. Ideally, disconnect the water pipes and rinse the pump with clean water.V. Remove the tape from the sewage pump, rinse it thoroughly with water, and let it air dry in the sun. Do not store the tape in a dark, damp place. The pump tape must not be contaminated with oil or any sticky substances.VI. Carefully inspect the impeller for cracks and ensure it is securely fixed to the bearing. Repair any cracks or looseness immediately. Clean any dirt or debris from the impeller. VII. Ensure the connection between the pump and the pipeline is properly sealed. Foreign matter entering the pump can damage its internal components.VIII. The bearings on the sewage pump are also a key area to inspect. After use, check for wear. Over time, the small balls inside the bearings may break. Therefore, after each use, apply a layer of lubricating oil to the bearings for better protection. These are the precautions for using a sewage pump. We hope you find them helpful.
